MicroSolutions Experience- Seminar in a Box 

Scheduled for the week of October 22nd, 2007, the very popular Seminar-in-a-Box format is being used to introduce you to MicroLogix PLC's, or Small Logic Controllers.

This four hour workshop is a great introduction to micro PLC's and PLC's in general. It is aimed at people who have had either little or no expereince with PLC's. We go through the basics of PLC's, discuss the memory and data file structure and then look at the programming structure and different instructions. This is then followed by 2 hours of hands on labs where you can program a real PLC and then test your programs, following the excellent workshop lab notes provided.

FactoryTalk Workshops

Scheduled for the week of November 5th, 2007, the workshop objective is to focus on four new products from the FactoryTalk suite of Rockwell Software:

      - FactoryTalk Asset Centre - provides you with a set of tools to securely and centrally manage your factory and process automation production environments by securing 

        access to the control system, tracking users' actions, managing asset configuration files, configuring process instruments and providing backup and recovery of

        operating asset configurations.

      - FactoryTalk Historian - This solution optimizes manufacturing processes through the analysis of historical data. FactoryTalk Historian provides the capability to collect,

         store, analyze, and visualize data using a powerful engine and a set of reporting tools such as time-series trends, bar charts, pie charts, pareto and tabular trends, and

         an easy method of generating reports using Microsoft Excel. It also uses compressed storage data algorithms to contain a vast amount of data in a small format, and

         you can retrieve the data quickly over a short or long time span.

      - FactoryTalk View - FactoryTalk® View, including FactoryTalk View SE, FactoryTalk View ME and FactoryTalk View Studio, are HMI software products designed with a common

         look, feel, and navigation to help speed HMI application development and training time.

      - FactoryTalk Metrics - FactoryTalk Metrics enables manufacturers of all types and sizes to increase production, reduce costs, and increase quality using existing equipment

         and labor more effectively. This is accomplished through accurate reporting of real plant-floor activity.

       
The objective is to introduce the new software products to customers, explain the future direction of Rockwell Software, and then let users

get some hands on experience by completeing the labs provided. Customers can attend the talk only and not complete the labs if they so wish.

The workshops will include a generic 90 minute presentation on all of the new FactoryTalk products, followed by a 2 to 3 hours hands on lab on one
of the above products, or a taster of each package, depending on the customer customers' preference.

ControlLogix Essentials Training Course

Scheduled for the week of December 10th 2007, the ControlLogix Essentials course is a great way to get up to speed quickly on what Logix is all about.

The purpose of this course is to teach students about the ControlLogix system and how to troubleshoot programs. The course covers all the essential ControlLogix hardware and system architecture.
